Welcome to Dhumketu Antorjatik Nazrul Academy
On May 26, 2021, guided by the inspiring ideals of Kazi Nazrul Islam, the “Dhumketu Antorjatik Nazrul Academy” was inaugurated. In just three years, this young institution has blossomed into a beacon of excellence. Despite navigating numerous challenges during its early days, the academy has earned the support and blessings of individuals from Cooch Behar to every corner of the world. It is now a fully registered entity under both the West Bengal and Indian governments.
Originating from Cooch Behar, the academy has rapidly expanded, establishing numerous branches across West Bengal, various states in India, all districts of Bangladesh, and different parts of the globe. Its growth has been significantly supported by esteemed individuals, including Khilkhil Kazi, the granddaughter of Kazi Nazrul Islam, alongside renowned artists and many overseas Bengalis.

Our Mission
The core mission of the academy is to inspire through the profound legacy of Nazrul. We are committed to extending Nazrul’s reach to a broader audience and to perpetuating his ideals of equality and secularism for future generations. Our strategic objectives include:
Developing a comprehensive campus that encompasses primary and secondary schools, dormitories for boys and girls, an open stage, a museum, playgrounds, and facilities for music, dance, recitation, and drama. This will be a place where students, under strict discipline in the Nazrul tradition, can grow and thrive. Additionally, the campus will feature an orphanage and a senior citizens' home.
Organizing workshops and seminars on Nazrul at various educational institutions, and producing music and recitation albums that highlight local artists alongside established performers, thereby promoting local talent on an international platform.
Hosting an annual International Nazrul Fair and publishing a related journal to celebrate and disseminate Nazrul’s works.
- Collecting and preserving all songs, poems, and research materials related to Kazi Nazrul Islam, ensuring their continued accessibility and appreciation.
